Share Voice Candidates with Waveforms and Timestamps: A Team Comparison Sheet
When a team selects a voice, it is more practical to make the same passage immediately playable than to circulate impressions such as “I like this person.” Number the candidate recordings and put the start time and reason for the evaluation in one table. A waveform does not judge voice quality; it is a marker for sharing the comparison position.
Narrow candidates from public samples
Start by finding a delivery close to the project in publicly available samples. Because copy, BGM, and recording conditions differ, specify the endings, explanatory tempo, or other points to evaluate rather than judging the richness of the whole file. Keep each candidate’s link and start position in the table so everyone checks the same passage.
If public samples are not enough, ask first whether a test read using the project copy is possible, and confirm cost, usage scope, and schedule. Do not assume free work or a common-script recording.
Example:
| Candidate | Listening position | Strength | Point to confirm | Decision |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | 00:00:07 | Clear explanatory endings | Product-name accent | Pending |
| B | 00:00:07 | Fits the video tempo | Reading of numbers | Runner-up |
| C | 00:00:07 | Feels close to the viewer | Pause near the end | First choice |
“First choice” is not the final order. Keep candidate selection separate from the order decision until purpose, publication scope, recording conditions, and schedule are fixed.
Limit how you use waveforms
A larger waveform peak does not necessarily mean that the voice is easier to understand. Use the waveform to share playback positions: “this sentence is at seven seconds” or “the product name starts after this silence.” If candidate levels differ, align playback conditions as far as practical so volume differences do not decide the impression. Final level and the relationship with BGM belong to editing and MA.
If selection files are provided, manage candidate names and versions only within the permitted sharing scope. Use a name such as vp_voice_C_test01.wav and keep it consistent with the table. Do not casually rename it inside the company; that small rule prevents errors.

Decision-maker:
Write not only “like” or “dislike,” but how you expect the voice to reach which listener. For a corporate video, it may be explanatory stability; for recruitment, distance from employee voices; for a WebCM, words that remain after a short viewing.
For other ordering conditions, see the home-recorded narrator selection guide. At voice samples, share links that open at the waveform-selected position. Add the intended use and delivery style when contacting us about corporate-video narration.
Before sharing, check playback positions and access rights. Once comments are collected, decide against the project priorities and record the reason in one line rather than relying on a simple majority. If conditions change between selection and formal ordering, do not reuse the evaluation without checking voice distance and recording conditions again. Record the assumptions under which the comparison is valid.
When forwarding audio outside the company, confirm the candidate’s handling conditions. Keep audition listening separate from public use and never mix pre-order audio into published materials.
Narration from ¥50,000. Usually delivered 24–48 hours after script approval; rush delivery is subject to availability.
